Driven by heavy traffic to the popular social network MySpace, News Corp.’s Fox Interactive Media division served more display ads than any other U.S. Web property in June, according to new figures from online metrics firm comScore.

Of the 52.3 billion display ads FIM served, MySpace accounted for 51 billion. The nearest competitor was Yahoo (NASDAQ: YHOO), which served up 34.7 billion throughout its Web properties.

By market share, FIM accounted for 15.9 percent of all display ad views, compared to Yahoo’s 10.5 percent.

Will Nokia’s Unlocked Phones Open Wallets?
Nokia’s Nseries N85 phone.Source: Nokia Nokia, the Finnish mobile phone leader, is banking that by turning the traditional economics of mobile phones on its head, it’s going to reap the benefits while offering more choice and features to buyers. But with the move ensuring that customers will initially pay far higher prices for their devices, will buyers bite? The handset maker this week launched three new models in its Nseries line of phones, all of which arrive “unlocked” — without being tied to a mobile carrier. But that also means that carriers aren’t picking up part of the devices’ price tag, raising the retail cost for consumers. (Read the full post about ‘Will Nokia’s Unlocked Phones Open Wallets?’…)

A Challenge to our Attention-Challenged Generation

Autor admin | 27.08.2008 | Category SEO

People who read my writings know that I have a particular fondness for the keynote speeches when I go to an industry trade show. They help bring a deeper perspective to your work, something that day-to-day job execution makes difficult to otherwise achieve. This year’s SES San Jose was no exception. The first keynote at this year’s conference was by Lee Siegel, author of “Against The Machine: Being Human in the Age of the Electronic Mob.”

One thing Siegel draws out for us is the way technology has evolved our culture and our brains. He believes we’re increasingly having difficulty paying attention, and that this behavior is encouraged.

PALO ALTO, Calif. – SAP said it plans to aggressively pursue new markets with a slew of innovative new technologies for its troubled Business ByDesign on-demand suite of products for small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers. Politics A-Go-Go on the Web

Autor admin | 27.08.2008 | Category SEO

By now, the story of Barack Obama’s use of online social tools to out-fundraise his political rivals has become a familiar one.

The soon-to-be Democratic presidential nominee created My.BarackObama.com, a massive social network that his campaign has used to build an online community and collect multiple contributions (many of modest amounts) from the same donors.

But while the social and viral elements to the Obama ascendancy seem for many to capture the spirit of the confluence of political arena and an emergent breed of participatory Web applications, the changing political landscape is really a Web-wide phenomenon.

Autor admin | 27.08.2008 | Category SEO

A number of downgrades weighed on the Nasdaq on Tuesday, as slowdown fears held the tech sector back even as blue chip shares managed modest gains.
