AVG Adds Link Scanning To Antivirus Suite
Autor admin | 27.02.2008 | Category SEO
AVG Technologies is the latest antivirus vendor to beef up its security suite to cover as wide a range of threats as possible by including link-scanning technology it acquired late last year.
AVG (which changed its name from Grisoft earlier this year) isn’t as well known in the U.S. as Symantec, McAfee or Trend Micro, but it has a huge international presence, particularly in Europe where it is based. It consistently scores very high in antivirus tests against known threats, but its tests against zero-day threats are a little more inconsistent.

Intel Revamps Embedded Xeon Line
Autor admin | 27.02.2008 | Category SEO
Less than one year after its first foray into Xeon-based embedded chips, Intel has refreshed the line with newer processors and a new chipset that drastically improve performance and cut some of the power draw.
As part of the upgrade, Intel is promising licensees a seven-year life cycle support program, considerably longer than the lifespan of a typical process, which typically runs about 18 months. But the embedded market is more change-averse and typically wants commitments to product and part sameness for five to ten years, according to Intel.
The new processors are based on the 45nm Penryn design and consist of the 5200 series (dual core) and 5400 (quad core), with power draws ranging from 35 to 80 watts and running at clock speeds ranging from 2.13 GHz to 3GHz.
